Kribs and live plants

Postby Barb Okla » Thu Apr 08, 2010 7:26 pm

I know I read before I placed the Kribs in the hex with LIVE plants, that they do NOT eat them or bother them.. well. they are.. great..
they are picking apart the Ludwigia "cuba" Or just the ones fallng off from their old to new place..

AND I read where Ludwigia cuba, likes and NEEDS CO2.. I dont' have that so this is going to be interesting to see how it goes.. I dont' at this time see it going bad, other than some leaves coming off mostly from the Kribs nibbling here and their..

SO what kind of liquid ferts do I need to maintain them OR will placing them in dirt help as good without adding in ferts to the tank??

I just have them in the gravel for now. I might plants them in pots w/dirt like the vells are, they are growing great like that and I can move them around without shocking them... The light is a Ocean sun 10000 K. really bright. Pic of hex :

Barb,

You can make a DIY carbon despenser with a 2 L bottle, yeast, sugar and baking soda. A little tubing run into your filter and you are good to go. Works fine in a small tank.
I dreamed I was a mermaid
in the blueness of the sea,
all the little fishes came
and swam with me.
